Our speaker’s bureau consists of autistic members of our community of all ages. Schools and organizations can request a speaker from our bureau to speak about a topic on autism — from professional audiences to young people. Our goal is to nurture a better understanding of autism from those who have “been there, done that.” Many of our autistic members share many of the traits our children do today and can familiarize us better with the autistic experience. Some autistic members are also professionals and can enhance other professional views of disability.
Our current speakers bureau list includes members such as:
Jim Sinclair, autistic advocate and founder of Autism Network International
Michael Moon, President of the TAAProject board
Martine Stonehouse, member of the TAAProject board
John Gelmon, man with Aspergers
Brian Henson, member of the TAAProject board
Matthew Schuster, student at Queen’s University and autistic self-advocate
We can help organize the scope of your talk. For more information on our speakers, or help in constructing a discussion around autism, acceptance and further understanding, please contact our office at 416-487-3600.
